(Disclaimer: I am NOT asking for money. That is against Passions policy and would get my account deleted. Do NOT attempt to offer me any. I am only trying to start a conversation.)
Given that most alternative medicines are not acknowledged by Medicare, Medicaid, or other government assistance; likewise not all are covered by insurance; and given that those of us who cannot afford insurance probably cannot afford much in the way of self-pay care either -- what shall we do? Is wellness, like every other basic need in life, a privilege to be reserved for those who can afford it?
I have developed a condition which I believe could be treated by an acupuncturist; but as I have no insurance, I will have to scrape together a (to me) substantial amount in order to do this. Surely those who can afford alternative healthcare have thought about ways to open those doors to those of us who cannot? I hope? Maybe we can brainstorm some ideas?
