Miner for a heart of gold Hi, I just moved to Fayetteville, and I'm looking forward to meeting new people and finding out what the area has to offer, especially in terms of music and outdoor recreation.

I do have a quiet side and like to spend time outdoors hiking, exploring or reading, though I can be the extrovert once I get to know you. I'm a proud pop science geek and enjoy reading about biology, physics, philosophy, and historical fiction. NOVA, Nova scienceNOW and the Colbert Report are some favorite shows.

I also like trying out new seafood and vegetarian recipes, listening to blues and folk music, drawing and travel. While I enjoy philosophical discussion I have an equally playful side and can be a bit goofy/dorky at times. It's part of my charm. I am often attracted to the absent-minded professor type.

I'm currently a geosciences librarian and would like to use my geosciences knowledge to get involved in environmental work more directly - I've been volunteering for a while now. In my personal life I try to reduce my impact in various ways, including eating low on the food chain (other than an occasional indulgence in seafood). I also believe in maintaining a healthy lifestyle (other than frequent indulgences in sweets).

I'm drawn to people with a sense of humor, sense of wonder, adventurous and curious spirit and love for the natural/non-human world.
