I guess I might describe myself, if pushed for a label, as a 'green geek'.

On the one hand, I'm really into grassroots environmental and community activism, particularly education and outreach work. It's a great way of meeting people who feel the same way as you do over a pint of real ale in the pub!


I've also just swapped working for the Man for working for the Dude by joining the staff of an environmental charity.

On the other, I'm also the quiet kid in the corner, scribbling in his diary over a cup of coffee, or armed with his books and music.

My old reference points used to be fantasy/SF and indie music, but these days anything goes. I love reading politics, psychology and anything that catches my eye in second-hand bookshops. I also have thoughtful friends who drag me out for encounters with high culture in art galleries, theatres etc.

As for what brings me to this site? Curiosity and a chance to meet new people who are into the same things as I am.
