I help the environment by educating myself about conserving nature and the environment. Volunteering with Shreveport Green, a local environmental organization, lets me be active in conservation. Our activities include community gardening, educating people about nature conservation, litter clean up, recycling, and working with local businesses to promote enviromental awarness. I also belong to the Bayou Chapter of the Ozark Society. It is a hiking club that does camping, canoeing, hiking, picnics, and the like. We have guest speakers who tell us about the outdoors and nature conservation. Also, I give speeches about local environmental issues at monthly meetings.
