local food and living lightly Having grown up in an idyllic environment in California, I thought the world was somehow on the right track with alternative energy, organic gardens, recycling, and loving nature. As the decades have passed, I have seen that we are hurdling headlong over... Let me start again... there is only this present moment and our relationship to it... When there is a battle to fight locally, I am there in the forefront. Our city successfully fought off an electric power incinerator plant that wanted to locate here. Now I have been working with fellow New Yorkers to fight horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing for natural gas because it is a very dirty and destructive kind of mining.
I am growing my own garden and started a kids garden at the local elementary school. Some friends and I are looking into building masonry heaters together.
