I feel the western world has lost skills vital for survival, while human make advances in other fields if a disaster was ever to happen most would be helpless. I've never fitted in the current system since money has never motivated me, but my desire to grow my own food, raise my own animals, live in nature away from the city, and live a simple life with someone, is a desire that has grown stronger over time. I get more emotional and spiritual reward for helping people, not for a monetary value. Its why I desire to find a partner who feels the same and wants to make something special together. I'd even be open to joining a eco village/ small community with likeminded good hearted folk. I want to know the people who make my food, cut my meat, provide a service, interact with my family etc.
While this is my main goal I've have started preparing to live this life by getting, fit, trekking every day, watching bush craft, survival videos, reading books on primitive technology, learn basic farming techniques. Since i i live in the UK to do many of bush craft/farming is difficult due to the land you have and that every bit is private owned or public with laws to prevent you to do anything. I have been applying for internships in the USA, to farms and other established eco villages.
